Ms Suman Sehwag : A great soul, she has devoted herself to caring for the sick and needy animals.
Suman was a little child when she started caring for needy animals. Her father instilled in her a love for the voiceless animals and since then she does everything in her capacity to look after sick and injured animals.
Like several other young girls in her village, Suman was married off and left her father’s home with dreams of living a happy, content life. But destiny had other plans for her and she lost her husband. She had no kids and was left all alone in this world.
In her grief she chose to serve the innocent animals – they were her new family
Located in Narela, Delhi, the Foundation is a safe home to many stray cats too. People in the area know her well and inform her about any animal in the neighbourhood who needs help. Suman and her team of volunteers also feed 3000 monkeys in the nearby area on a daily basis. Even during the COVID lockdown, she didn’t stop for a day – a true animal lover by heart, she puts their needs before her own.
Suman rescues stray dogs in horrible conditions from garbage dumps, covered in maggots. She brings them home, gives them nutritious food, and looks after their medical needs. Although she does as much as she can, her heart aches for all those strays who are still struggling to survive. She wants to save many more animals.

“While I have seen many cases of animal cruelty, I have also seen the growing awareness among people who want to give these animals a better life. That’s the only thing that gives me hope. We are in dire need of an ambulance so that we can save many more animals in need. We also need dog food and medicines to look after the old and paralysed dogs – every donation will make a difference.”
While Suman has no kids of her own, she is a loving mother to hundreds of strays who would have otherwise met with a terrible fate. With her love and care, she is changing their lives for the better. Your support will make a huge difference.
